Landscapes

The title of this web site gives it away; Adrian's main interest in photography is landscapes! “There are few things on earth more exhilarating than watching the light transform the landscape in the hours before and after sunrise and sunset.”

He also believes passionately that photographic images of the landscape are a hugely under-rated art form, particularly in the UK. A (modest) ambition is to make a significant contribution to changing this perception of landscape photography, although he readily admits that the solution has so far eluded him!

The majority of his images are taken digitally, using the Leica M8 camera with the first-class lenses for which Leica are renowned. Alternatively he uses the Canon 5d II with Canon L series lenses, although, after the intuitive simplicity of the Leica equipment “it takes some time to get the hang of the Canon if it's not been out of the camera bag for a while!” Most images are taken from a Gitzo tripod, and Lee graduated filters are frequently used (and dropped!).

Adrian has been a finalist in the “Landscape Photographer of the Year”, and has had his images published in several books and magazines. He also self-publishes desk diaries and books (see 'Buy' section of this site).
